Bilateral Relations with the Netherlands

The Maldives and the Netherlands established diplomatic relations on 3 September 1979. The Embassy of Maldives in Belgium is accredited to Netherlands.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands accredited to the Maldives is in Colombo.

Ambassador of Maldives to the Kingdom Belgium and Head of the Mission to the European Union, Her Excellency Geela Ali, presented her presented her Letters of Credence to the King of the Netherlands, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander on 26 March 2025.

His Excellency Omar Abdul Razzak, resident in Belgium presented his letter of Credence on 15 December 2022. 

His Excellency Hassan Sobir, resident in Belgium presented his letter of Credence on 28 November 2019.

His Excellency Ahmed Shiaan, resident in Belgium presented his letter of Credence on 14 December 2016.
